ABOUT ASES

Welcome to ASES, Penn State’s Solar Club!

Established in 1954, the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is the nation’s leading association of solar professionals & advocates. Our mission is to inspire an era of energy innovation and speed the transition to a sustainable energy economy. We advance education, research and policy.

WE ARE the Penn State chapter of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES). Our chapter was founded in 2010 at Penn State’s University Park campus. Our mission is to advance all things solar at Penn State and around the community. Our parent organization is supported by more than 8,000 energy professionals and grassroots supporters. With the Penn State Chapter included, ASES has regional chapters in 40 states across the U.S.

The need for renewable energy is clear. Fossil fuels are putting the U.S. economy and environment at risk. Energy costs are volatile. Pollution and climate change threaten our children’s future. Even the security of our nation is at risk as the U.S. continues to buy fuel from turbulent regions. The time for change is now.

We are partnered with the following organizations:

Escape Room

For ASES Penn State members only, enjoy an end of the year event that rewards all the hard work accomplished. ASES members put themselves up to the challenge of escaping the themed room in the allotted time.

In 2018, seven ASES members escaped the Diamond Heist room with 12 minutes and 34 seconds to spare!

Can it be beaten?
