Project 3D Printers
Power to Nairobi, Africa
Last year we worked in collaboration with the Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship (HESE) program at Penn State to help them in powering 3d printers with an external solar battery storage.
HESE's Kijenzi venture works to connect hospitals in rural Kisumu County, Kenya with local 3D printer operators to print needed medical equipment and medical parts. The issue arises when there is limited amount of power and 3D prints are not completed.
We were contacted to help solve that problem! ASES PSU worked in researching different types of battery storage in combination with solar power to keep the printer powered during power outages.
The project is still going, stay tuned for more information!
